We are elated to inform you that Confederation of Indian Industry and Young Indians under the aegis of Odisha Tourism and in partnership with The Juggernauts, is hosting the Tour de Ekamra Cyclothon as part of the ‘Odisha by Road’ campaign of Odisha Tourism.

With the country battling this unprecedented pandemic, the Cyclothon not only underlines cycling as a crucial means of fitness and community building, but also augments global consciousness of depleting non-renewable resources by promoting cycling as a viable mode of commute in the post-COVID scenario. The event also caters to enhanced footprints at important culture and temple heritage sites of Bhubaneswar amplified by social media impressions.

OUR INTENTIONS : To build a wholesome, prosperous and thriving ecosystem for sports in general in Odisha To portray Odisha as the true heir of dominance in global sporting circles. To stand behind the initiatives taken to uplift the current scenario of sports in the state, & to demonstrate the power of the 12thman - the fans.
WHY ARE WE INTERESTED IN CYCLING?

When we started off as a football fan club, we were joined by folks from all walks of life and who were into multiple sports like badminton, swimming, cycling, cricket, volleyball, kabaddi, etc and had a common penchant for sports. Many new cyclists came up during lockdown to pursue it as an amateur sport or hobby and as the city is readying to open up post COVID, there is a high chance that these cyclists might lose interest in cycling as a mode of commute or fitness. We want to build a community of cyclists, with a vision of nurturing them into cross-sports cultures #SportsPostCOVID #BeyondBoundaries

Tour de Ekamra - NOMENCLATURE

Derived from the largest cycling extravaganza on the face of the planet, we devised to create our own version of the cycle tour around the periphery of Ekamra Kshetra - ancient Bhubaneswar encompassing antique temples, culture and heritage sites and scenic locales.
