From Nataraja to Lakulisa of Parasurameswar Temple in Bhubaneswar

In the 6th-7th centuries CE, Bhubaneswar or the ancient Ekamra witnessed the beginning of temple building activities for the first time. Celebrated as Lord Shiva's eastern abode, here one finds a unique style of temple architecture referred to as Kalinga School. Parasurameswar is one of the earliest going back to the 7th century CE representing the early formative phase of Kalinga School. Here is Parasurameswar's story.
